The Brunette Downs Station on the Barkly Tablelands, 350 kms north-east of Tennant Creek had previously used lake and bore water supplemented by carting in water via truck. In times of drought a secure source of water is required with water being required for accommodation purposes, for garden and for stock watering.
How Rowater helped Brunette Downs desalinate and purify bore water.
Rowater developed a versatile plant able to treat both surface water when it is available and bore water when surface water is insufficient. The plant designed, installed and commissioned provides 240 kL/day of product water and includes screen and media filtration as well as UV pre-treatment, RO and calcite with UV for post-treatment.
The secure water source has greatly improved the working conditions for the staff on-site.
