Like many properties of its kind, Pine View needed to convert high salinity bore water (3,500 mg/L) into drinking water for the homestead, workers, cattle and sheep as not enough rain water was available.
Rowater helped Pine View Station desalinate and purify bore water.
In 1999 Mark Lacey from Pine View purchased a 10,000 litre a day RO solution from Rowater, which was later upgraded to 15,000 litre a day. The RO equipment operates at low recovery so the brine is still suitable for stock drinking. In this way no water was wasted.
The system worked so well that Mark referred Rowater to neighboring Border Downs Station. Twenty years on and Mark has recently purchased a larger 25,000 litre a day RO plant to provide greater quantities of water, supplementing the 15,000 litre a day plant, which is still in operation.
